Detail of an isometric apartment floor plan lit with red, pink and blue lighting where a party is taking place across time and space. A blue panther walks across the dining room. Large stalks of millet overflow from a nearby closet. Tentacles emerge from the floor of a bedroom. Wild, spiked tongues stick out a bathroom window.
Party Office
Party Office is an anti-caste, anti-racist, trans feminist art and social space founded by Vidisha-Fadescha. This illustration was created for the Documenta Fifteen exhibit catalogue, using the floor plan of Party Office's physical space in New Delhi, India as a way of imagining the space socially.
The partygoers included in the illustration span several centuries, positioning Party Office in the past, present and future. Indian social reformers Savitribai Phule, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Periyar are in attendance, along with Fatima Sheikh, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Phoolan Devi and Bisra Munda. Surreal and otherworldly elements also fill the space.
